Who is behind AirRegister?
AirRegister is the result of three experienced practitioners in the community shares space coming togther to try and help societies better manage their share registers.
Team members
- Simon Borkin (Commonly) - Simon worked at Co-ops UK for eight years, establishing and leading the Community Shares Unit (CSU) and the Community Shares Booster Programme. He's also a board member of Friends of Stretford Public Hall and has experienced first-hand the difficulties of managing over 800 investors in the society. Simon is now a freelance practitioner who is working with co-ops, community enterprises and charities across the UK.
- Dave Boyle (Community Shares Company) - Dave has worked on some of the UK’s highest profile share issues, including Hastings Pier Charity, the first charity to raise equity finance in the UK and Portpatrick Harbour, the first Scottish charity to do so. He’s also advised on community share issues in sport, leisure, pubs, energy and media. He’s a licensed practitioner by the Community Shares Unit.
- Patrick Morello (Third Sector Accountancy) - Patrick has worked with societies and social enterprises as a chartered accountant for the past 25 years and is a leading expert on co-op finance and accounting.
Simon, Dave and Patrick are working closely with a leading Airtable Developer, Jonathan Bowen (Dragon Drop), to provide technical input for AirRegister. Dragon Drop is a UK-based web development agency that builds websites and web apps for commercial and non-profit clients, including Save the Children, Justice & Care, Cath Kidston and Mint Velvet.
A significant proportion of their work uses the Airtable platform to develop business process apps for clients and they have created many Airtable apps for many different industries - non-profit, manufacturing, professional services and healthcare among them.
